Following his presentation Lawrence opened the floor to an hour of questions. One perennial question that is raised every year is how to keep deer out of gardens. Lawrence said home-grown remedies are only good for a week or two and he recommended a new product called Plantskydd. If applied as per directions only one application a year is required, he said. For more information on plantskydd dial 1-800-252-6051 or online at www.info@treeworld.com.
The annual event is a fundraiser for the Muskoka Parry Sound Master Gardeners, which is a non-profit organization and is self-funded. The organization belongs to Master Gardeners Ontario Inc. and helps master gardeners in training pay for their education.
